Research Experience: I joined the services of Indian Council of Medical Research in 1976 as an Assistant Research Officer. I am engaged in medical research since then. The field of research was Immunology and the Initial work was in the field of Filariasis Immunology and Tuberculosis Immunology. Considering the importance of research in HIV and AIDS I was transferred to the National AIDS Research Institute and given the responsibility of establishing Serology and Immunology laboratories in the new premises of the Institute. I have also initiated a programme of Immunological studies.
